The library environment is superior, with ideal facilities. The library’s building area is about 22,000 square meters, with more than 1,300 available seats. It contains a one-stop research area, reading and leisure areas, laboratories, multimedia rooms, multimedia independent self-assistant centers and other supporting facilities. It has 10G fiber optic access with the school information center and full library wireless network coverage. The library information service management system can act as a "one-stop" retrieval of various resources, providing convenient scientific research and teaching information services for faculty and students. The library is accessible to the local government and enterprises in the Yizhuang Region to establish and conduct scientific research, public opinion and business information services, as well as establish production information communication platforms between school and enterprises.
The library has a wide variety of resources. Currently, it has more than one million paper books, 1,300 Chinese periodicals, 79 foreign periodicals, more than 10,000 kinds of electronic academic journals, 1.09 million volumes of imaging electronic books, access to 33 databases, and is building an ensured literature resource delivery system that combines paper documents and digital archives.
The library adopts open management and innovative services. For collection resources, the library adopts an integrated management of collections that can provide multi-type and multi-level services for readers such as borrowing, reading, reference consultation, information retrieval, document copying, document delivery, interlibrary borrowing, up to date science and technology information, information literacy training, and thematic information notifications.
Knowledge creates value, and wisdom leads life. In the new development stage of the library, we will adhere to the management objective "resource sharing, open management, and one-stop service", as well as continuously innovate library resource construction, reader services, management and operation mechanism. We aim to constantly optimize the readers’ study and research environment and jointly explore mechanism of co-construction, co-management, sharing and shared use of library with the Yizhuang area. We have built the library into a key academic institution that supports school education, teaching, and scientific research, and we have developed the library into an information center and cultural exchange base for the Yizhuang Development Zone. It has become a lifelong learning center, cultural leisure center and information service center, and has become a service station for the construction of a learning society.
